Confirmed: New Starbucks Going In On 4th Ave.

"We look forward to opening our doors to the Park Slope and Gowanus neighborhoods."

GOWANUS, BROOKLYN — A spokesman for Starbucks confirmed to Patch that the national coffee giant is opening a location on Fourth Avenue.

It will the the third location in the Park Slope-Gowanus-area, joining two spots on Seventh Avenue. The spokesman, in an email to Patch, said the Fourth Avenue coffee shop will open "in the coming months."

"Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers, and we are happy to confirm that we will be opening a new location in Brooklyn at 470 4th Ave., in the coming months," the spokesman said.

Signs had been spotted outside of a new development on Fourth Avenue near 11th Street.

"We look forward to opening our doors to the Park Slope and Gowanus neighborhoods," the spokesman said.

The lot was bought in 2014 for $20 million by Adam America Real Estate Group, Slate Property Group and Naveh Shuster Limited, The Real Deal reported at the time.

The group planned to build a 12- to 17-story apartment building on the 12,690-square-foot lot, with retail on the ground floor, The Real Deal reported.
