Plans Filed For Three-Story Warehouse In Red Hook

The plans, pre-filed last week, call to build the 346,508-square-foot building at 640 Columbia St., city records show.

RED HOOK, NY — A planned three-story e-commerce warehouse could be coming to a Red Hook lot, city records show.

Developer DH Property Holding pre-filed a permit request with the city last week to build the 346,508-square-foot warehouse at 640 Columbia St., New York YIMBY first reported.

Last year, DH Property Holding teamed up with Goldman Sachs to buy the lot, next door to Ikea, for nearly $50 million, the Real Deal reported. The site currently has several businesses leasing space there, including a concrete manufacturer.

Developers plan to build the multi-level warehouses for one or two e-commerce companies to lease space with truck ramps leading to the second-floor and elevators for forklifts on the third, the Real Deal reported.

The Columbia Street lot is the first of two e-commerce warehouses in the city planned by DH Property Holdings to get off the ground.

The developer teamed with Innovo Property Group and Square Mile Capital Management to buy the former Whitestone Multiplex Cinemas site in the Bronx for $75 million, the Real Deal reported. They plan to build an 840,000-square-foot warehouse at that spot.
