10 Communities Surrounding Great Neck Among Best Places in NY to Raise a Family

Niche.com took a look at the best places to raise a family in states across the country and several communities in the Great Neck area made the list.

The 100 best places to live in New York State rankings put 1o communities surrounding Great Neck on the top of the list, including:

• Great Neck— No. 56
• Gerat Neck Plaza— No. 57
• Saddle Rock— No. 50
• Lake Success— No. 49
• Kings Point— No. 42
• Great Neck Estates— No. 28
• Thomaston— No. 23
• Great Neck Gardens— No. 21
• Kensington— No. 13
• University Gardens— No. 11

According to its rankings for New York, Long Island offers more than a few possibilities, with Flower Hill, Plandome, Munsey Park and Roslyn Estates in Nassau County among the top 10.

In the national rankings, Devon, Pa., earned top honors. Three New York towns made the national list–Scarsdale (No. 29) and Rye (No. 66) in Westchester County and Flower Hill (No. 3) in Nassau.

The lists were created using information about public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family friendly amenities.
