MANHASSET, NY — A Bayside man snuck inside a couple’s hotel room in Manhasset early Friday morning, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said that at about 3 a.m. Michael C. Lee, 29, went inside a room at the Travelodge on Northern Boulevard by pushing open an unlocked sliding window. A 33-year-old woman, who had rented the room, was confronted by Lee and called out to her 44-year-old boyfriend for help, and the two demanded to know why Lee was in the room, and asked for his identification, police said.

Lee agreed, handed over his license to the couple, but then left the room, and soon after, the woman noticed her money was missing and contacted police, according to police. Officers later found Lee, who was staying at the hotel, and placed him under arrest without incident, police said.
