Car Fire Shuts Westbound Long Island Expressway

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the fire, which has shut the expressway in the area as crews work.

GREAT NECK, NY — A car fire has shut down the westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Great Neck.

All of the lanes are closed due to a fire between exit 34 for New Hyde Park Road and exit 33 for Lakeville Road.

Police and firefighters are on the scene. There's no word yet on what caused the fire, or if anyone was injured.
