Electric Scooter Rider Falls In Nassau, Dies: Police

Police say a 56-year-old man was riding a scooter when he fell and hit his head on the pavement. He died at a hospital.

GREAT NECK ESTATES, NY — A Great Neck man is dead after he fell off an electric scooter and hit his head on the pavement, police said.

Emmanuelito Velayo, 56, was riding a scooter around 2:15 p.m. Saturday on Bayview Avenue when he fell near Cutter Mill Road in Great Neck Estates.

He suffered a severe head injury and died at a hospital, police said.
