Fire Displaces 7 Families In Great Neck

The fire broke out at an apartment complex on Wednesday night, police say.

Seven families were displaced following a fire that broke out in a Great Neck apartment complex on Wednesday evening, police say.

According to authorities, the fire broke out in an apartment on the third flood of the complex, located at 20 Chapel Place, at 8:34 p.m. The Vigilant Fire Department and Alert Fire Department, both from Great Neck, responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Nassau Police also responded and assisted in evacuating residents from the building.

The Red Cross arraigned housing for seven families, including 10 adults and one child, who were displaced from the fire.

No injuries from the fire were reported at this time.

The fire was deemed non suspicious in nature and the investigation by Arson/Bomb Squad continues. The Fire Marshal was present at scene.
