Former Great Neck Editor Awarded
Long Island writer and editor wins three accolades from the Press Club of Long Island chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists

Former Great Neck Record editor Sheri ArbitalJacoby won three awards from the Press Club of Long Island chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, in the 2021 PCLI Media Awards.
The award-winning writer and editor took home two awards in the Health category for pieces published in The Well by Northwell, which provides consumers personalized content to reduce stress, make them laugh and help them feel more confident and capable on their health-care journey.
First place was awarded for the four-part Immunity Series that examined the healthiest foods to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. ArbitalJacoby also received third place for “Plant-Based Eating for Better Family Health.” The winning entries can be read at https://thewell.northwell.edu/.

Temple Beth-El of Great Neck’s Shema magazine won third place for Best Magazine. Managing Editor Sheri ArbitalJacoby, Editor Len Schiff and Executive Director Stuart Botwinick were all credited for their work on the winter and fall 2020 editions.

Temple Beth-El is Great Neck’s oldest synagogue, serving the community for more than 90 years.
ArbitalJacoby received First Place in the Narrative–Travel category for “Travel Diary: A 4-Part Family Trip from Long Island to Montreal and Quebec City” in Long Island Weekly during the 2016 Media Awards ceremony. The Washington University in St. Louis grad previously won First Place for Health and Science in a Magazine for “A Healthier Way to Work.”
Prior to her role at the Great Neck Record, the Albertson resident served as managing editor for Working Mother magazine for nearly a quarter century.
