Giant Earth Balloon 'Touches Down' at Sands Point Preserve

Children and their caregivers can learn about the planet when the Giant Earth Balloon returns to Sands Point Preserve on Sunday, April 26.

They’ll get to step inside a 19-foot inflated model of the earth. And they’ll see a unique view of the planet’s huge oceans and surprisingly large continents – a view typically reserved for those traveling in space. Following the 30-minute presentation, which includes a walking tour “around the world,” as well as some time inside the inflated globe, families may stay for a “geographical” craft project. Not recommended for children under 4-years-of age. Registration is required and space is strictly limited in each show.

The event takes place at the Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps protect the site’s historic buildings and grounds.

There are four sessions: 11 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.
