GREAT NECK, NY — Great Neck Public Schools has a new budget, and results were also announced in the Board of Education election.

The proposed 2020-21 budget easily passed Tuesday with 3,709 votes in favor to 1,894 against.

Budget Overview

  • 2020-21 proposed budget: $241.4 million
  • 2019-20 budget: $234.4 million
  • Budget increase (percent): 2.98 percent

In the Board of Education election, Rebecca Sassouni defeated John Jahng and Jeffrey Shi was re-elected after running unopposed. Sassouni and Shi will each serve three-year terms.

Library Budget

The library budget, meanwhile, passed with 3,592 votes in favor to 1,788 against.
