One website considers this community a complete snooze-fest.

Two communities on Long Island are considered among the Top 10 most boring small towns in America, according to the website AreaVibes.
The website, which specializes in ranking towns, gave East Hills and Kings Point the honor of being named the No. 5 and No. 10 most boring places in the country, respectively.
But is being boring a bad thing? Maybe if you’re a twenty-something who enjoys population congestion and has no intention of settling down anytime soon.

By the website’s definition, being boring means most of the residents own an AARP card, and “the most exciting thing they do all day is post a picture of their grandchild on Facebook.”
Basically, AreaVibes thinks anyone who is older, married and has kids is considered boring.

To come to this conclusion, the website used the following criteria to determine the excitement levels of each town:
- Towns with a population between 5,000 and 50,000 residents
- Percentage of Population Over 35 (higher is more boring)
- Percentage of Married Households (higher is more boring)
- Median Age (higher is more boring)
- Percentage of Households With Kids (higher is more boring)
- Percentage of Households With People Over 65 (higher is more boring)
- Population Density (lower is more boring)
Here’s what the website had to say about the No. 5 most boring town in America, East Hills:
- Population: 6,948
- Median Age: 42
- Married Households: 77 percent
- Households With Kids: 49 percent
This small village on Long Island has more married people with kids than Cherry Hills Village. However, the median age is far lower, meaning that overall, there might be slightly more energy in the air near this wealthy region of New York state.
