Kings Point Ranked Among Safest Places in New York

One of the greatest things about living in Kings Point is you don’t need to sleep with one eye open at night.

According to Alarm System Reviews, the Village is the No. 10 safest place in New York.

To determine the safety rankings, the website used data from several national sources to find the number of violent and property crimes in towns with at least 2,500 residents. The website then used the total number of crimes and the reported population to assign an overall crime rate per 1,000 residents.

The rankings say Kings Point, with a population of 5,065, has a 0.0 violent crime rate and a 2.0 property crime rate per 1,000.

Nearby Lake Success Village also made the list at No. 95.

The village of Kings Point is part of Great Neck in Nassau County along the North Shore of Long Island. It is often grouped together with the other hamlets and villages referred to collectively as “Great Neck”. One of its most famous residents, F. Scott Fitzgerald modeled the fictional town of West Egg on Kings Point in his novel, The Great Gatsby.

Compared to Waterbury, Vt., however, Kings Point residents are living life on the edge. Vermont was ranked the No. 1 safest state in America and Waterbury is its safest town, according to Alarm System Reviews. New York was ranked the No. 16 safest state in America.

The rankings say the safest place in New York is Stockport, a town located south of Albany.
