Kitten Rescued From Basement Window Well In Nassau
Police officers had to climb through thick bushes to reach the animal, which was trapped for two days.

RUSSELL GARDENS, NY — Nassau County police rescured a 4-week-old kitten Saturday afternoon that became trapped for two days in the basement window well of a Russell Gardens home.
Police were called to a Wensley Drive home around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Neighbors said the window well was attached to the rear of the home behind thick bushes. Police slowly climbed through the bushes and saw a gray kitten trapped at the bottom of the window well. They found and rescued the distressed kitten, bringing it out to safety.
The kitten was not hurt. A family member of one of the rescuing officers plans to adopt the stray kitten and bring it to a veterinarian for evaluation.
