The remnants of Hurricane Laura could spark some severe weather on Long Island Saturday, the National Weather Service says.

Satellite imagery Saturday morning showed an area of tropical moisture that was once Laura located near the West Virginia and Maryland border. That moisture will be pulled north through the day.

Rain is expected to begin falling by noon on the island and continue the rest of the day. Strong-to-severe thunderstorms are possible.
