Man, 76, Dies In Tractor-Trailer Crash Off LIE
The man "appeared to have suffered a medical emergency," and was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
MANHASSET, NY — A 76-year-old man died when the tractor trailer he was driving veered off of the Long Island Expressway in Manhasset on Monday, Nassau County police said.
Highway Patrol officers said that at about 11 p.m. the man, whose name is being withheld, was driving the tractor trailer in the westbound lane of the expressway near Exit 34 when it left the roadway and “went through a wooded area” before coming to rest on the South Service Road.
The man, whose name is being withheld, “appeared to have suffered a medical emergency,” and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
