MANHASSET, NY — Walgreens pharmacies across New York are now offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents aged 12 to 15 years old.

The move follows an authorization by the Food and Drug Administration, and final guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday.

The pharmacy, which will have the vaccine at all Long Island locations, and most across the state, is offering same day and walk-in appointments for convenience, according to a news release.

Parents or guardians seeking the vaccine can schedule appointments online at Walgreens.com/ScheduleVaccine, or by calling 1-800-Walgreens. To book an appointment, parents or guardians can also use Walgreens guest scheduling.

A parent or guardian must make an appointment for adolescents who are 12 years old, but adolescents 13 years old and up can make an appointment themselves.
