Sunday: Springtime Spectacular at Sands Point Preserve
Plant a Pizza Garden, Let's Drum with Jonathan Duda, live animal presentations and teen rock band Pursuing JC bring a day of family fun.

It’s a day of family fun at Sands Point Preserve’s annual Springtime Spectacular on Sunday, from 1-3 p.m.
This much-anticipated event promises an afternoon of family-fun with a wide variety of nature and music activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
This year’s celebration will feature The Sierra Club – Long Island Group for “Planting A Pizza Garden,” “ Let’s Drum with Jonathan Duda” for ongoing drumming workshops, live animal presentations, photo opportunities, musical performances with the popular teen rock band Pursuing JC, outdoor trail activities for all ages, outdoor bubbles, springtime crafts and destination family-walks to the beach and pond.

The program is held at the original Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps protect the site’s historic buildings and grounds.
“Our Springtime Spectacular is always a big hit with families who get to enjoy the many resources that the Preserve has to offer,” said Jean-Marie Posner, executive director of Friends of the Sands Point Preserve. “This year especially, everyone is looking forward to spring, and what better place to celebrate it than at Sands Point Preserve, with its many wooded trails and scenic coastline?”
