Town Of North Hempstead Project Independence Hosts Caregiver To Support Group
The weekly group meetings are held over Zoom and are open to North Hempstead residents age 60 and older.

North Hempstead, NY –Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board, the Department of Services for the Aging, and Project Independence remind residents that the Town offers a free Caregiver to a Spouse Support group each Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The weekly group meetings are held over Zoom and are open to North Hempstead residents age 60 and older. The meetings are held by Gail Selis, Gerontologist (EAC/Project Independence) and teaches individuals about new ways to cope with the demands of care-giving and ultimately gain a better understanding of their relationship with their loved ones. Participants are also taught the importance of meeting their own needs and provided with community resources.
