HARLEM, NY — For the second time, a school reopening has forced Harlem's city-run vaccine hub to move to a new location.

The vaccination site at A. Philip Randolph High School (443 West 135th St.) moved on Thursday to the City College North Academic Center, on Amsterdam Avenue between West 136th and 138th streets.

It's the second move for the site, which first opened in mid-January at Wadleigh Campus/I.S. 88 on West 114th Street. After middle schools reopened last month, the hub moved about 20 blocks north to A. Philip Randolph.

The new site at City College is only about a block west from A. Philip Randolph.

Residents with appointments have been notified by text, call and email about the change, and signage and staff will redirect people who show up at the former site, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said.

Staff will try to reschedule people with existing appointments at the old location to the same day and time at the new site. If the rescheduled time does not work, people can reschedule for a new time, the city said.

In addition to dozens of city-run sites, hundreds of pharmacies are now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to all New Yorkers over the age of 50, or those eligible due to underlying health conditions or their jobs.

Eligible New Yorkers can schedule a vaccine appointment at vaccinefinder.nyc.gov.
