Harlem's Youth-Run Farmers' Market Returns For Summer
Offering fresh, locally-grown produce, the seventh-annual market kicked off Wednesday in Harlem and will remain open through November.

HARLEM, NY — A popular youth-run farmer's market reopened Wednesday in Hamilton Heights, promising to dish out thousands of pounds of fresh produce over the next six months.
Now in its seventh year, the BroSis Green Youth Market kicked off Wednesday in Johnny Hartman Plaza, at the intersection of West 143rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
The market will be held every Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., through Nov. 24. It is organized by The Brotherhood Sister Sol, a neighborhood nonprofit focused on youth mentorship.

Our youth-run Farmers' Market is beginning earlier this season! Come by on Wednesdays & support our youth in responding to food insecurity & economic pressures that prevent access to healthy food in our community. Wednesday's opening date is much earlier than it's been in past years, organizers said. (Last year, the market did not begin until July 8.)

As in past years, the market focuses on alleviating food insecurity by offering healthy greens at low prices. All told, the market will provide more than 40,000 pounds of fresh, locally-grown food to the community this year, BroSis says.
Cash, debit and credit card, EBT, WIC, Health Bucks and FMNP checks are all accepted.
The market is held steps away from The Brotherhood Sister Sol's temporary home at 140 Hamilton Pl. The organization is currently at work on a new, six-story headquarters on West 143rd Street.
