Man Breaks In, Attempts To Rape 8-Year-Old in East Harlem: Police

The NYPD is looking for a man who broke into an apartment and attempted to rape a child near East 108th Street and First Avenue.

EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is on the hunt for a man who broke into an apartment near East 108th Street and First Avenue in the middle of the night and attempted to rape an 8-year-old girl.

The attack occurred on July 7 at 11:15 p.m. when the girl was in her room sleeping. The suspect woke up the child and attempted to sexually assault her. The man fled out the bedroom window and down a fire escape.

The girl was not injured in the attack.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his 20s with long black hair and acne on his face.
