EAST HARLEM, NY — The fire department had to rescue a woman from the basement of Joy Burger Bar after she fell through a hatch on the floor Monday afternoon.
The FDNY was unsure of how she fell through the floor at 1567 Lexington Avenue, but CBS 2 reported there was a metal panel at the front of the store used to access the basement, which the woman fell through into the basement eight feet below.
The incident happened at 3:2o p.m., when the FDNY was called for a "non-critical" injury to the woman. A fire spokesman said the woman suffered a head injury, but couldn't elaborate on the severity. She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.
