Suffolk Will Hold Job Fair For Ex-Convicts

Suffolk County Department of Labor's Fresh Start Career Expo will be held this month.

HAUPPAUGE,NY — The Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will host several job upcoming job fairs, according to Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone's office. The Fresh Start Career Expo will be held on March 18th, and was created to help the formerly-incarcerated overcome obstacles to finding employment. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the One-Stop Employment Center at 725 Veterans Memorial Hwy.

This is the eighth year the Fresh Start Expo will run. According to the county's announcement the job fair "provides job-seekers faced with previous convictions a unique opportunity to connect with prospective employers."

"Staffed with employment professionals from several private and public entities, the Employment Center functions as a full service human resources facility. The center supplies the job seeking customer with all the tools necessary for a self-directed or staff-assisted job search, and provides employers with facilities and workforce support."
