Daytime Lane Closures Expected For Veterans Memorial Highway
Repairs are expected to take place into the summer, according to the NYS Department of Transportation.
ISLANDIA, NY — Potential daytime lane closures are expected on Veterans Memorial Highway in the Village of Islandia. Beginning this week, one lane in eastbound and westbound directions are subject to closure weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Express Drive North and Sycamore Lane, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
Crews will be performing drainage repair work and curb ramp upgrades ahead of resurfacing work expected this spring. Closures are expected to be in place into the summer.
Electronic message signs near the work zone will relay closure information to the traveling public.

As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather. NYSDOT stated it appreciates the patience and cooperation of drivers and the local community while this project is undertaken.
