Bencivenga: I think I'm most excited for our friends and family who have been helping us this last year as we've been making this dream come to life, I think I'm excited for them to finally taste what they've been waiting for.

P: What will make Duck Donuts different from the rest of the donut shops on Long Island?

B: I think the most unique thing I think is that we make the donuts fresh to order and they're customized by the customer which is great! So if you're feeling like a peanut butter day or a vanilla day or a strawberry day or a lemon day or maybe you just want sprinkles -- you can do that! So everyday is a new day for a donut where they're made fresh for you!

P: What do you think will be the most popular flavor?

B: Undeniably the maple bacon. I know that's my husband's favorite. It's a delicious breakfast bite and it's just awesome. It's definitely our number 1 best seller.

P: What's your favorite flavor?

B: My personal favorite is actually lemon with a raspberry drizzle, it's called a sunrise. The lemon icing we make it fresh in the back with a lot of different ingredients and it's very flavorful and I happen to like lemon.

P: What other flavors will you be offering?

B: They are definitely some fan favorites that I think people should try just because they're really popular -- we have vanilla icing with Oreo which is delicious and we have something called a flip flop which is chocolate icing with a vanilla drizzle.

P: What's one thing you want customers to know that they might not know about you?

B: We're most excited to open this business because it gives us an opportunity to teach our kids what business is like. Both my husband and I are working professionals we've been working for many, many years but you don't really get to translate that experience and that knowledge to your kids and it's just another way to have fun with our kids and have them see what small business is like something that I think not everyone gets to experience.

P: What has been the most difficult part about opening a business so far?

B: The time it takes. Believe it or not I do project management for a living, that's actually one of the things that I do and I know that things take longer than what you think, but somehow I just thought we were going to bring this thing to life because of my knowledge and my skills and the great people that we hired but no matter what it takes what it takes.
