The traffic signal rebuild on Marcus Boulevard and New Highway is complete, with the exception of the loop detection in the pavement. This technology can detect vehicles passing or approaching a traffic light, for example. The existing loops at the intersection are operating. However, improvements to the detection are currently being installed. The next steps involve the Highway Department moving the drainage systems and then widening the road at Adams Avenue. Utility agencies have completed the relocation of poles, so the Highway Department can plan for this portion of the project in spring.
The Town's "amazing group of professionals" at Horizons Counseling and Education Center had their mid-year update with Hauppauge High School Administration to discuss clinical and prevention objectives. This month, the Horizons Prevention staff will be participating in the Hauppauge Alliance Youth Summit event.
