Dr. Michael continued: “We know that studies show that students who read more have stronger growth in vocabulary, reading comprehension and verbal fluency. These students who read more independently also tend to score higher on tests and have greater background knowledge which will aid them in their content area studies. Sora will be a powerful tool for our community to continue to motivate and excite students about literature.”

Sora was designed to transform the modern student reading experience and built by OverDrive Education, a division of Rakuten OverDrive serving K-12 schools worldwide.Rakuten OverDrive is the leading digital reading platform for a growing network of 43,000 libraries – including Hauppauge Public Library - and schools in 76 countries.
