Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

Saturday will be one of the coldest days this winter.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island as temperatures fall this weekend to their lowest in two months.

Saturday will be one of the coldest days of the winter and wind chill temperatures Saturday night and early Sunday could plunge as low as -10 degrees, the NWS says.

"After bottoming out Sunday morning, temperatures will begin to trend upward on Sunday afternoon and rebound to above-average levels on Monday and Tuesday," AccuWeather reports.

The full forecast:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 23 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 8. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. Blustery, with a northwest wind 20 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 33. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 13. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 41 by 10pm.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51.

Tuesday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
