Snow Total Estimates Released For Monday, Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

Light snow is expected to develop Monday morning and it's now expected to accumulate.

The National Weather Service has now issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island as some light snow threatens to make the Monday morning commute a mess.

The NWS has now increased the chance of snow to 60 percent. Snow is likely to develop in the morning and then taper off in the afternoon. A total of 1-2 inches is expected to accumulate in southwestern Suffolk County and eastern Suffolk. Around an inch is likely to fall over Nassau County and northwestern Suffolk.

Depending on the exact track of the storm, there is a low chance of an additional 1-2 inches of snow across the island, the NWS says.
