Islip Animal Shelter Hosts Adopt-a-Thon August 9
The event will offer $25 micro-chipping, raffles, discounts on adoption fees and more.

On Saturday August 9, Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center will hold an Adopt-a-thon from noon to 3 p.m.
The event will be sponsored by Live.Love.Bark Dog Rescue Inc., the shelter’s non-profit volunteer group, which will pay a portion of every adoption fee on animals that have been waiting six months or longer to be adopted.
Volunteers will showcase adoptable dogs by walking them down a red carpet and the shelter will offer micro-chipping for both dogs and cats for $25.

A DJ will be present, along with a hot dog truck and various local vendors. There will be a 50/50 raffle and basket raffles. The Shelter requests that guests only bring their own pets if they are being micro-chipped. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier. Nervous or aggressive animals should be muzzled prior to getting micro-chipped.
