Lake Ronkonkoma's 1st Annual Cemetery Walk To Honor Civil War Soldiers

The event will celebrate local Civil War Soldiers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 23.

The first annual Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery Walk will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Presented by the Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association, local Civil War soldiers will be honored by the award-winning Old Bethpage Restoration Village Company H 119 NY Volunteer Infantry at the event. Soldiers will be celebrated through accounts of living history, by Civil War expert and author Chris Schnupp, and through the Commerdinger C.P. Preservation Society and others representing the soldiers.

In addition, a proclamation, made possible by Legislature Tom Muratore, will induct the Cemetery into the Historic Landmarks of Lake Ronkonkoma as Landmark #5 at 10 a.m. sharp.

Suggested donation for the event is $5. Children under 12 are admitted for free.
