HAUPPAUGE, NY — Positive Promotions, a Hauppauge-based company that provides advertisement and specialized goods for businesses for gifts and giveaways, laid off 236 workers, according to details on the New York State Department of Labor. The layoffs came in March as a result of the new coronavirus according to the details, and the closure is defined as "temporary."
Patch's request for comment to the company was not immediately returned.
"For more than 70 years, companies large and small have trusted us to help advertise their brands and provide distinctive gifts or giveaways for special events, employee recognition, trade shows, fundraisers, and celebrations of every kind," the Positive Promotion's 'About Us' section reads. The company, founded in 1947, is located at 15 Gilpin Ave.
