Local Teen takes Overall Champion in 2 Equestrian Summer Series

On September 6th, it was announced Alexeus Ruland and Foretell My Future placed At Islip Horseman’s Association (IHA) Series End High Point Jumpers Winner, and also placed 6th in Training Hunter. At the final show for Long Island Horse shows Alexeus and Prophet made a complete sweep securing their overall win for the summer series Jumpers division.

Equestrian Jumpers showcases the rider’s ability to guide their horse through a course of obstacles and barriers within a specific time frame. It also demonstrates strength and agility of both the rider and horse.

In contrast, the Hunter division is subjectively judged, and must still exhibit the traits desired of a good field hunter— calm disposition, good manners, smooth gaits, steady way of going, and pleasant and efficient jumping ability— but must do so with style, presence and superior technique. Conformation, athleticism, disposition, and jumping form all combine to define a winning show ring hunter.
