Luxury Home Decor Company To Lay Off 78 From Hauppauge Location

HAUPPAUGE, NY - A luxury home decor company will be laying off a total of 78 employees at its Hauppauge location next month, according to a notice from the state Department of Labor.

The layoffs will affect employees of the Robert Allen Duralee Group located at 49 Wireless Boulevard.

In addition, five people from the Syosset office on Michael Drive will also be laid off. In total, 119 employees from the two Long Island locations and two additional offices in New York City will be affected.

It is unclear how many people work at each office.

According to the notice, the layoffs come after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Layoffs are expected to begin April 22.

The company's CEO Lee Silberman told Fabrics & Furnishings International that there are many buyers interested in purchasing the company. A court meeting with creditors will be held on Friday, March 15.
