Man Runs Brother Over In Long Island Hotel Lot: Police

The two brothers were arguing when one got in his pickup truck and ran the other one over, seriously injuring him, police said.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — A man faces charges after Suffolk police said he ran over his brother in a Hauppauge hotel parking lot Sunday night.

Brothers Thomas Delaney and Michael Dubhlaine were arguing in the parking lot of the Hyatt Regency Long Island on the Motor Parkway around 9:10 p.m., police said. Delaney then got into his 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck and ran over Dubhlaine, police said.

Dubhlaine, 36, of Port Jefferson, was seriously injured and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Delaney, 38, of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, was charged with second-degree assault and driving while ability impaired/combination drugs and alcohol. He was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

Detectives asked anyone who witnessed the incident to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
