Man Tries Robbing Hauppauge Bank: Police

The man handed a teller a note demanding cash, police say.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police said tried to rob a bank in Hauppauge in March.

A man entered Bank of America, at 190 Motor Parkway, around 3:05 p.m. March 9 and handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said. The man ran out of the bank without any money, police said.

Police described the man as white, in his early 20s, between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build, blonde hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, and a white and black bandana covered his face, police said. He was also carrying a backpack, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
