Hauppauge's New York State Winners Advance to National History Day Competition

Hauppauge School District is pleased to announce the student winners from the New York State History Day (NYSHD) Competition, which was held in Cooperstown, New York. They are:
Middle School Division

9th Grade, Emma Claps, Individual Exhibit: “The Three Stooges Taking a Stand Using Comedy as a Weapon,” (Teacher Anna DiTroia).

These winning students will advance to the 2017 National History Day National Competition, which will be held June 11-15, 2017, in College Park, Maryland.
“Congratulations to Hauppauge’s students who competed in the New York State National History Day Competition. We also wish Jalaj, Alex and Emma the best of luck as they advance to the final level of the 2017 NHD Competition,” stated Doreen Gordon, director of social studies and business. “We also extend a special congratulations to Bella Salvia who did an outstanding job at the NYS Competition and thank Teachers Stacey Lasurdo and Sara Rhindress who chaperoned and/or judged the New York State History Day Competition.”
