Patch: Tell us a little about your business.
Angelina: I opened a SolBol in Ronkonkoma a year ago today pretty much, and then we decided to open the store here. We've been open almost a month now and we're doing well. People are just starting to get to know that we're open and we're here so it's exciting.
P: How did you get started in this business?
A: My sister would eat acai bowls all the time so I had asked her to take me to get one so I went and got one with her and I was like "oh this is really good" and then I found out that they franchise. Since I own the building in Ronkonkoma so I decided to split the building so I can get the most use out of it and I opened that store. Then I just really love the business and I enjoy being here so I opened this second store.
P: Is this your first business venture?
A: This is my third business. I own my family's florist in Ronkonkoma and then the SolBol in Ronkonkoma and this is my second franchise.
P: How long have you been doing business in Hauppauge?
A: It's been a month.
P: What's your favorite part about doing business here in Hauppauge?
A: The customers are super nice. The staff are all pretty much local, a lot of the kids all go to Hauppauge High School and they're all super sweet and really nice to work with so it's nice to keep the community together.
P: What made you want to open here in Hauppauge?
A: I like the area. I like that it's close to the high school, our product is popular with the younger generation I would say. I thought we would do well here.
P: What was the most difficult part about opening this store?
A: It's a lot of work putting into the build out. My dad did a lot of the interior work and that takes a long time and you're just excited and want to open and I just feel like that's stressful. And then I think hiring the right employees to keep the vibe of the store I think is super important.
P: What makes your business unique?
A: We just like to keep a happy, healthy environment.
P: What do you want the community to know that they might not know?
A: I want them to know that our product is super fresh: our granola is homemade, we blend our acai fresh everyday, our fruit comes in fresh everyday and just that we're here and we're open and happy to serve the community.
P: Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
A: That's I'm 26-year-old and I own three businesses.
