Options' Housing Grants to Help Long Islanders
Options Awarded NYS Supportive Housing Grants to Help Prevent Homelessness and Provide Stability for Vulnerable Long Islanders

Options for Community Living, Inc. has been awarded two contracts under the New York State Supportive Housing Program (NYSSHP) through the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. These NYSSHP awards – together totaling $230,640 – will enable Options to assist vulnerable Long Island families and single adults residing in the agency’s supportive housing programs.
“The NYSSHP awards provide much needed financial support for Options’ case managers who work directly with residents in our housing programs, which continue to grow,” stated Yolanda Robano-Gross, executive director, Options for Community Living. “Supportive housing allows people to live with dignity in the community. It is the most humane and cost-effective solution to ending homelessness and creating stability for vulnerable people on Long Island.”
Options’ residents pay an affordable rent and case managers make regular home visits to monitor health and safety and teach skills, such as cooking, budgeting and much more so that the residents can live independently. More than 600 Long Islanders reside in Options’ over 150 supportive housing sites in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
