WATCH: Suffolk Restaurant Owners Rally For Full Reopening

"We are ready," the owners and some local politicians said at Monday's "Rally to Reopen."

HAUPPAGUE, NY— Leaders from two restaurant associations, restaurant owners and local politicians met Monday at the H. Lee Denison building in Hauppauge to “rally for reopening.” Jointly organized by the Patchogue and Bay Shore restaurant committees and the Suffolk County Restaurant and Tavern Association, the rally supported the immediate reopening of indoor dining in Suffolk County.

Gov. Cuomo has added outdoor dining to Phase 2, which begins Wednesday on Long Island. But the speakers at Monday’s rally said that they are ready to safely reopen now.

Suffolk Legislator Tom Cilmi spoke, referencing Cuomo when he said “when you said close it down, we have the public to protect, we listened.”
