Curated by professional filmmakers from the Suffolk County Film Commission, this annual event features screenings of the “best of the best” Suffolk County high school narrative, documentary and/or animated films, followed by a reception honoring the school student filmmakers who will be recognized by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. The students also will be placed on a priority list for internship requests that come through the Suffolk County Film Office.

These young adults also were among the Hauppauge High School IB Film students who won Best in Show awards at the 2017 Long Island Media Arts Show, which was held at Five Towns College, Dix Hills, New York. “I am pleased to congratulate all of Hauppauge High School’s filmmakers for achieving these prestigious honors,” stated Hauppauge High School IB Film Teacher David Schaeffler.
