The home was built as one of the original five turn-of-the-century properties to host the wealthy and celebrities who often visited the BeauxArts Casino, where the Bay Club now stands, during the Jazz Age, according to the listing.
Hearst is believed to have purchased the home for his mistress, Ziegfeld showgirl Marion Davies, the New York Post reported. The duo met following her 1915 performance of "Stop! Look! Listen!," according to the report. Hearst was 52 at the time and 12 years married, while Davies was 18.

The property is roughly 2 miles from downtown Huntington and 3 miles from the Huntington Long Island Rail Road Station, the Long Island Press reported. The $26,092 annual property taxes are not included in the $2.2 million figure, according to the Long Island Press.
