50 Levittown Families to Benefit From Thanksgiving Food Drive

Thanks to the efforts of the Division Avenue High School student council, the Levittown School District has announced that 50 Levittown families will benefit from this year’s annual Thanksgiving food drive.

Under the direction of advisors Lynn Castellano, Gerard Marzigliano and Jeffrey Stotsky, the students started their collection efforts in the front of local supermarkets during the summer and by calling private donors.

One student council member’s parent donated a U-Haul truck to deliver the food and the students collected an additional $1,820 in food store gift cards.

“This has been an overwhelming response,” advisor Lynn Castellano said. “It took a core of students six hours just to box the donations.. There will be many Levittown families who will benefit from the labor of these generous students and donors.”
