Apple TV+'s 'Dickinson' Plans To Film On Long Island, Again
The period dramedy starring Hailee Steinfeld has been green-lighted to film season 3 on the island.

OLD BETHPAGE, NY — The producers of the hit Apple TV+ period dramedy, "Dickinson," which is based on the early life and times of the queen of unrequited love poems, Emily Dickinson, and stars Hailee Steinfeld, have plans to film again at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, according to Nassau County documents.
The show’s production company, Dickinson 1, LLC of Los Angeles, CA, has been approved to construct temporary sets and shoot scenes at the restoration, according to its use and occupancy application with the county. It’s a one-year agreement, which contains four one-year renewal options.
In their application to the county, the show’s producers told officials: “We have successfully filmed and completed two prior production years in Nassau County. We are eager and hopeful to return for a third successful year, as we embark on the production of “Dickinson” Season 3 for Apple TV+.”

The 209-acre Old Bethpage Village Restoration, a recreation of a mid-19th century American village, features an assortment of homes, shops, and farms, as well as a replica of the 1860 Mineola Fair building, which has been used for catered events, according to the county’s website.
Much of the filming for the series has already been shot at the restoration, particularly the shots for the exterior of the Dickinsons’ home, according to TheCinemaholic.
The show focuses on Dickinson’s fictional early life, weaving a tale of her family and love interests, including her rejected male suitors and her relationship with her brother’s fiancée, according to reports.
Steinfeld recently posted a photo to Instagram showing herself in a corset — seemingly back to work, in a post, writing, “it’s almost that time again...Hi Season THREE!,” before including a Tinker Bell emoji, comicbook.com reported.
The show’s creator, Alena Smith, recently told The Hollywood Reporter that season 3 will be set in the Civil War and will explore Dickinson’s writing.
A representative from the production company did not return an email seeking comment for this story.
Dickinson 1, LLC is one of the latest production companies to set its sights on Long Island.
While Long Island has long been no stranger to the Hollywood set with the filming of such cinema classics as “The Godfather” in Sands Point, in past years, films like Marvel’s “The Avengers,” and “Ocean’s 8” have been shot at Grumman Studios in Bethpage, Newsday reported. There are also plans to construct a satellite location in Port Washington.
More recently, “Law & Order: Organized Crime” filmed at Louie’s in Port Washington in February, and “Blue Bloods” is currently filming on location in Old Brookville.
Also, this week, lawmakers are expected to weigh in on an $800,000 increase and one-year extension to the promotion of a tourism services contract between the county’s parks department and Discover Long Island.
