Celebrate Summer's End at Farmingdale Downtown Music Festival

This weekend's festival includes performances from over 20 artists, a street fair, outdoor dining and more.

Residents can celebrate the end of summer with a two-day music festival in Downtown Farmingdale Village this weekend.

About 12,000 music lovers were in attendance at the inaugural Farmingdale Downtown Music Festival in 2014.

This year, over 20 artists from a diverse span of genres, including original and emerging artists in country, Americana, rock, funk, zydeco and jam will be taking the stage on Saturday and Sunday.

This free outdoor festival will also feature musical acts, outdoor dining, a street fair, a kid’s fun zone, “Art in the Park,” a craft fair on Saturday and a great farmers’ market on Sunday.

The music kicks off from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 20 from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Scroll down to see the full musical lineup and the time of each performance)

Headliners include:

  • Rock n Roll icon and legend: Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels
  • Straight out of Louisiana Bayou Country: Buckwheat Zydeco

Local and emerging artists include:

  • LI Music Hall of Fame recipients (of the LI Sound Award - LISA): Gene Casey & the Lone Sharks
  • Stanton Anderson Band.
  • Miles To Dayton
  • Quarter Horse
  • Joe Bayer Band
  • Funkin A
  • Local favorites: the Electric Dudes
  • Local blues hero: Kerry Kearney

Additional attractions include:

  • A KidZone stage for the younger music lovers
  • A “Live Art Wall”
  • Arts and Craft Vendors
  • Food and beverages

“The Village is gearing up for this free Music Fest and looks forward to great, fun entertainment for all ages to enjoy,” Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said.

The Festival will be held on Main Street from Prospect Street to N Front Street. Main Street will be closed to traffic on both sides for the duration of the festival.
