Firework Accidentally Explodes In Man's Hand In Nassau: Police

Police say the man suffered severe injuries.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A man suffered serious injuries after a firework accidentally exploded in his hand in Levittown.

Police were sent to Polaris Drive around 9:30 p.m. Sunday for a report that someone was injured in an explosion.

Officers found 20-year-old man had accidentally detonated a firework in his hand. The man was hospitalized with serious injuries to his hand and eye.
