Fifth-grade students from Gardiners Avenue recently visited Commerce Plaza, a hands-on educational program that introduces children to the business community through a simulated work environment.
In preparation for the field trip, classes completed a unit of study on economics, with activities ranging from check writing and balancing a checkbook to examining a business’s profit and loss.

During the trip, students were given jobs to carry out throughout the day and worked with their coworkers to run a successful business.Â
