
The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
A widespread 2 to 3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is expected through Monday night. Much of that likely falls late tonight into Monday afternoon, posing a threat for minor to moderate urban and poor drainage flooding.
The rain will likely be accompanied by moderately strong winds along the coast, potentially 20 to 30 mph sustained with gusts to 40 mph, the NWS says.
Coastal flood advisories have been issued for southern Nassau County and southwestern Suffolk County (from 8 p.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday) as well as northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk (from 10 p.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday.

Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Breaking waves up to 8-feet along the Atlantic Ocean beachfront will result in beach erosion and flooding with only minor damage possible to dune structures, the NWS says.

Monday- Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 58. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Monday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
Tuesday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. West wind 10 to 16 mph.
Tuesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.
Wednesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
Wednesday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.
Thursday- Partly sunny, with a high near 57.
Thursday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
Friday- Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
