Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island
Thunderstorms possible to start the work week. Also, find an air conditioner and stay in it.

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Long Island with the National Weather Service warning that strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are probable Monday afternoon and evening.
The main threat from any storms will be strong, potentially damaging winds, the NWS says.
The NWS is currently calling for a chance of thunderstorms from 5-11 p.m. Monday on Long Island.

It will also be quite hot on Monday, with a high near 90 degrees across most of the island. The East End will see temperatures top out in the mid-80s. If you are in the city Monday, it will be about 93 degrees, but it will feel closer to 100 with the humidity factored in.

After the thunderstorm threat on Monday, the rest of the week looks dry. Temperatures will cool down to seasonal levels on Tuesday, but things will heat back up heading into the weekend.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 7 to 16 mph.
Monday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind 6 to 15 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. North wind around 6 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
