ICYMI: Woman Stole From Town & Country Chrysler In Levittown: PD
She forged checks from the dealer where she worked and deposited them into her own bank account, police said.
LEVITTOWN, NY — A Hicksville woman forged $41,000 in checks from a car dealership that she worked in and deposited them into her own personal bank account, Nassau County police said Tuesday.
Detectives said Kristen Fault, 24, was arrested Monday after an employee working at Town & Country Chrysler Car Dealership in Levittown noticed a discrepancy in payroll and notified police. In a "thorough investigation" conducted by detectives and the Nassau County District Attorney's office, Fault was found to have had several forged checks — totaling $41,000 — in her possession that she deposited into her own accounts between Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, 2020, police said.
She was arrested at the dealership and was charged with third-degree grand larceny and six charges of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. She was arraigned on Tuesday in Mineola.
